New customer and tried to set up direct debit in Newcastle bank was told I would have to do it by phone not in store. Have tried 7 times by phone waiting anything from 45 mins to 1hour each time. In the end I hung up each time as never got a answer. This is a very bad situation and as a new customer I am not impressed by the service I am receiving even tried Santander's chat and that is useless to. Will not be recommending this bank to friends and family.
